The body of the Milanese mountaineer recovered by the mountain rescue men
The lifeless body of a 48-year-old mountaineer from Milan, MS, who fell on Lagazuoi, was recovered last night (Friday 26). At 5.20 pm the Suem power station had been alerted by a climber, whose brother she was tied up with, had flown for several meters, while they were climbing the Via del Buco on the Lagazuoi and she could not see him. Unable to get close to the face due to too much wind, the Suem di Pieve di Cadore helicopter transported a team from the Alpine Rescue of Cortina to the top. From the first information, during the climb, brother and sister, aged 45, had gone off the track, the man realizing the mistake was letting his sister lower himself, when suddenly he fell and ended up on a small grassy terrace, about fifty meters more in the lurch.
Some rescuers reached the woman, still parked, from above and lifted her to the top, while another technician descended to the lifeless mountaineer. As soon as the wind allowed it, the air ambulance recovered the woman and transported her to base camp, to entrust her to the medical team following possible trauma and abrasions to her hands. The helicopter then returned to the wall in a second rotation, to provide for the recovery of the body and the rescuer. The Cortina Alpine Rescue, the Financial Police and the Carabinieri took part in the operations.
