Pan Zhanle emerged as the ultimate champion at the recently concluded National Swimming Championships, clinching a total of seven gold medals. The competition came to a thrilling close on the 27th, with Zhanle securing his seventh gold in the men’s 4X100m medley relay event.
In a riveting showdown in the women’s 50-meter freestyle final, Wu Qingfeng made a remarkable victory by defeating top contender Zhang Yufei. Qingfeng clocked in at 24.22 seconds, setting a new personal best and claiming the championship title. Yufei closely followed behind, securing the runner-up position with a mere 0.08-second difference, while Yang Junxuan secured the bronze medal.
The men’s 4X100-meter medley relay saw a spectacular performance by the Tianjin-Shanghai-Zhejiang-Henan team, comprised of Xu Jiayu, Qin Haiyang, Wang Changhao, and the outstanding Pan Zhanle. Their impressive teamwork led to a championship-winning time of 3 minutes and 31.91 seconds.
Other notable victories included Fei Liwei’s gold-winning performance in the men’s 1500-meter freestyle event, completing the race in 14 minutes and 49.30 seconds. Additionally, the women’s 4X100m medley relay witnessed a stellar performance by the Shanxi-Shanghai-Sugan-Shandong-Huei team, consisting of Wan Letian, Tang Qianting, Zhang Yufei, and Yang Junxuan, claiming the championship in 3 minutes and 53.76 seconds.
