Serie D. The Juniores will be made up of players from Canavese and Valle d’Aosta only

MONTJOVET

Grow your youth sector, making its members tread on the national stage: this is what the management of Pont Donnaz Hône Arnad Evançon, whose first team plays in Serie D, wants to do.

And it is precisely in this direction that the lower Aosta Valley club in the next season will set up a national Juniores formed by players coming exclusively from Valle d’Aosta and Canavese, thus abandoning the idea, embraced last season, of building a team with players who came not only from from the area, but also from Southern Italy. The delegate to the youth sector, Giuseppe Pernice explains: “We want to grow our territory, with talented players who reside in Valle d’Aosta, in Canavese (such as Quincinetto, Ivrea, Rivarolo) or who are from Valle d’Aosta and want to return to their land – explains Pernice. Our goal is precisely to have our own identity and for this reason, we have also chosen a technician who knows the environment and the players very well, such as Gianni Cuc, last year second-in-command coach of Roberto Cretaz in the first team in Serie D. We want to give everyone the opportunity to compete in a very difficult championship, such as that of the national Juniores, to grow technically and humanly and, why not, also dream of being called up to the first team in Serie D. Our project is based on this direction – continues Pernice – the championship will begin on Saturday 2 October and in order to be as ready as possible, we will meet after August, but we still do not know on which field, a lot will depend on the programs of the first team. We have the structures of Donnas, Hône, Champdepraz, Arnad and Verrès, as well as Montjovet, where, however, we will only play the official matches, in the next few days we will complete the squad with the inclusion of motivated grafts, possibly born between 2002 and 2003, all of which are going to join the very good 2004 group. We are working hard and once the squad is over, we will be able to communicate to everyone the date and place of the pre-season meeting and thus plan the season – says Pernice. Our goal, as there are no relegations, will be to improve from all points of view ». Loris Ponsetto
