Pordenone: first the Ternana, then the problems away

The neroverdi will resume at Teghil, therefore the external commitments with Pisa and Como: it is essential to break the ice at home

PORDENONE. One of the many aspects that, after the break, Pordenone will have to improve is certainly their performance away from home. Strong point of the team that won the Serie C championship in 2019 – away from home remained undefeated for the whole tournament – over the last calendar year it has become an obvious weakness.

The last time the neroverdi won away from Lignano, in fact, dates back to last February 9th. Since then they have only managed one draw and ten defeats.

Cosenza and Crotone are keeping a similar performance, relegated at the end of the previous year (the former, however, were readmitted among the cadets after the exclusion of Chievo). To redeem themselves, Stefani and associates, after the Teghil match against Ternana, will have two external engagements in a row (with Pisa and Como).

Before running into this tunnel, Pordenone was going through a favorable moment.

On the road he had returned from five consecutive useful results, including three victories (with Spal, Salernitana and Entella) and two draws (Frosinone and Cosenza).

Then on February 21 the first knockout, signed by Reggina by that Folorunsho who now wears the green lizard jersey (1-0). Since then, six other setbacks in a row: Chievo (3-0), Monza (2-0), Empoli (1-0), Brescia (4-1, costing Tesser the bench), Cremonese (2-1) and Reggiana (1-0). In the last game of the championship away from Friuli, a 0-0 draw came in Venice.

At the beginning of the current tournament the black streak continued, as the group lost in Ferrara to Spal (5-0), then in Cittadella (1-0) and in Monza (3-1). As you can see, in eleven games the lizards have scored only three goals, one of which from a penalty (converted by Tsadjout to Brianteo).

Upon returning from the break, a home match will start again, the second consecutive after the one against Vicenza, given that Saturday 16 October will be played in Lignano with Ternana.

Curiosity wants that the same Ternana is one of the teams that, in the current season, has not yet won on the outside (two knockouts and a draw).

A figure that perhaps can play in favor of the neroverdi, who need to gain momentum to recover in the standings (which sees them on the bottom two points from Vicenza and three from Crotone and Alessandria) and to load up in view of the next two engagements, both away from Teghil: on Sunday 24 October Rastelli’s team will be received in Pisa, by the current leaders, then on Thursday 28 they will visit Como, a team that before the break won its first league match by beating Brescia .

First of all, given the imminent meeting with Ternana, we will have to react at home, where Domizzi’s group had built salvation in the previous season finale (three victories). After that, it will also be necessary to do it on the road, because every great goal is hit with results far from one’s own pitch.

Pordenone knows this very well, because the victory that actually gave him promotion to Serie B was obtained in Trieste, in the Triestina stadium, which was then his direct pursuer.
