MANSUÈ
A golden draw, brought home in very difficult conditions not only for a field soaked in freezing water, but also for a squad that begins to suffer from the many games played. Portomansuè broke the ticket for the final of the Epiphany by drawing with a Mestrino Rubano who can hardly be reproached: he created a lot, he wasted too much, but overall he proved to be able to stay in the game for the whole match. There were great protests after Portomansuè’s goal, when Filippini headed the ball into the corner. It was his first goal in green-and-white, but the visiting defense was convinced that when the lob that unmarked him was off, he was offside: goal validated. The first real guest opportunity came after 12 ‘, when Giammarco Scapin just sent out a ball that would have earned him the draw. Arrived in the second half after a series of occasions that had seen Portomansuè just try to contain the damage. Thanks to Scapin if, having penetrated into the area, he crossed at the near post where Keber was unable to catch it. Yet the goalkeeper was the key with which the hosts took home the final: the 20-year-old was phenomenal in stopping a Salata launched towards the goal, repeating himself twice more within five minutes. Il Mestrino never gave up, but in those minutes it became clear that Porto would make it: a couple of restarts were like a boon, allowing Marchetti’s team to let their opponents run and watch. What it took to qualify. –
