A season finale with all the trimmings for the athletes of the Finimpianti Rivarolo volleyball team, who from Serie C arrive back in Serie B2 thanks to the overwhelming victory in the last game of Group D of the playoffs.

Among the Canavese women’s volleyball teams, the Rivarolese Serie C team is the only one that has managed to move up in the category. The decisive victory on Saturday 4 June against Almese, at the opponent’s home, ended with a score in favor of the rivarolesi of 0-3. After the toasts that lasted all night, it’s time to take stock: “It was along the way to get here and the last few games have increased the pressure of the team, which however has always held up well, despite the fact that the girls felt it all on their shoulders. – comments the management after the playoff matches. – Even in the last match, played against Almese away from home on Saturday evening, our athletes found the right approach to get to victory. The game seemed simple, but it had its pitfalls because the opponents gave their all. Our girls, however, were able to maintain concentration in a difficult field, with the match held in a building known for its cheering and noise, and they surprised everyone with their determination ». After the first set, the match was downhill: «We saw the game in the first part of the match, then the pace dropped – continues the sports management. – There have been moments in which the Almese gave our girls a hard time, a moment of inattention would have been enough to blow everything up, but it did not happen. The girls from Finimpianti and the coach Beppe Orlandi did an excellent job ».

The game, in fact, ended with three sets won by the Canavese with partial scores 21-25, 19-25 and 16-25, extending the distance with the opponents during the match. The ranking of the six-team group ended with the first place of the Finimpianti at 12 points in front of Lilliput (10) and the passage to the higher category. On Saturday 11 June the direct match, on a neutral field at a time to be defined, with the Botalla Team Volley for the assignment of the title of winning team of the Piedmontese Serie C.

It did not go as well to the other Canavese teams. Canavese Ivrea volley, women’s Serie C, is relegated after the playout in group G, while in series D Fortitudo Chivasso, who played in the playoffs in group F, closed the standings with 3 points. To be relegated there is also Rivacastel Volley, a Serie D team from Rivarolo and Castellamonte who played in the playout matches in group M, with only one win to their credit, and is waiting to know the result of the repechage: it could stay in D. –
