Roberto “Manos de Piedra” Durán suffers a health complication

Former world boxing champion Roberto “Manos de Piedra” Durán reportedly suffered a health complication, as announced on Friday night through a statement on his Instagram account @robertoduranbox. The statement, also posted on his daughter’s account @irichelleduran, revealed that Durán experienced a health complication due to a “Complete AV Block.” The family is awaiting results and will share more information about his health in due time, asking for thoughts and prayers from family, friends, and followers.

Durán, the 72-year-old Panamanian boxing legend, was last publicly hospitalized in June 2020 after testing positive for Covid-19. The hospitalization was precautionary due to a lung injury sustained in an accident in Argentina. In October 2001, Durán was involved in a car accident in Buenos Aires, where he was in critical condition with fractured ribs pressing on his lung.

CNN attempted to reach out to Durán’s relatives for further information but has not been successful so far. The boxing community and fans are eagerly awaiting updates on Durán’s condition and sending well wishes for his recovery.
