Roeselare was just unable to prevail against Polish Kedzierzyn-Kozle on the sixth and final match day in group A of the Champions League in men’s volleyball. Roeselare ran out to 0-2 but still lost 3-2 (22-25, 19-25, 27-25, 25-16 and 15-12) and was eliminated from Europe. In group E, Maaseik, which finishes third and can go to the CEV Cup, lost 3-0 at the Italian Civitanova (25-18, 25-15 and 25-19).

Roeselare opened its campaign in group A in November with a home defeat against Turkish Ankara (1-3). This was followed by a big win at the Greek Olympiacos (0-3), new home defeats against the Polish Kedzierzyn-Kozle (2-3) and Olympiakos (0-3), and a loss in Ankara (3-2).

Ankara is crowned group winner with sixteen points, ahead of Kedzierzyn-Kozle (8). Olympiacos and Roeselare follow with six points, but the Greeks remain ahead of the Belgians in the final score, which means that the European adventure is over for the West Flemish.

Maaseik started in group E with a home defeat against Lvi Prague (0-3). The Limburgers then recorded a win at Arcada Galati (1-3), a home loss against Civitanova (0-3), a home win against Arcada Galati (3-1-) and a defeat in Prague (3-1). Civitanova wins the group with sixteen points, ahead of Prague (10). Maaseik (6) is the third to keep Galati (4) behind and can advance to the quarter-finals of the CEV Cup.

The winners of the five groups advance directly to the quarter-finals. The five second places and the best third place compete among themselves in a jump-off round, of which the three winners in turn also reach the quarter-finals. The remaining thirds of the groups will be drawn in the quarter-finals of the CEV Cup. The European adventure is over for the teams that finish fourth and last in the group.
