Salernitana, Lotito wants to buy time: he tries to convince the FIGC – Sport

SALERNO – The meeting to outline the future of Salernitana. It will be staged today in Rome between Claudio Lotito, Marco Mezzaroma and the pool of lawyers working to resolve the corporate issue. In the background, there is always the deadline of 25 June set by the Federal Council, the date by which the FIGC expects to be in possession of reassurances on the subject before giving the green light to the registration of Salernitana in the next Serie A. A race against the clock that is pushing Lotito and Mezzaroma to work also on the hypothesis of trust aimed at the sale to overcome the impasse linked to the timeshare and have more time available for the sale of the club.

A solution that has already been feared in recent weeks and which would be taking shape as the hours go by. In this case, the management of the club would be separated from the ownership, identifying a natural or legal person (a trustee) who can work with a much longer period of time than the June 25 deadline for the sale of the club. A possibility that would allow Lotito and Mezzaroma to be able to give in without the pressure linked to the timing for registration in the next Serie A, as well as being able to broaden the search for possible investors without dealing with a real “proletarian expropriation”, Mezzaroma dixit. However, a lot will revolve around the decision of the FIGC on the issue, with the Football Federation currently silent after the deadline set in recent days but with the radar always on on the case.
