Seppe Rotty and Manon Stragier have been named Player and Player of the Year at the Volleyproms in Affligem. Rotty already won the prize in 2022, but it is a first for Stragier.

The 23-year-old Rotty won the Belgian Cup with Roeselare in February and the opposition can soon also extend their national title with the West Flemish. Eternal rival Maaseik awaits in the final of the play-offs.

Rotty received 116 points from the voters and was ahead of teammate Simon Plaskie (69 points) and Martin Perin (56 points), the Maaseik libero who had to end his career in the spring at the age of just 21 due to a heart problem. On the honors list, Rotty is the successor to the Argentinian Pablo Kukartsev, who exchanged Roeselare for the French Tourcoing.

The 25-year-old Stragier, just like Rotty, has already won the Cup with her team Asterix AVO Beveren this season and can add the title to that. In the final of the play-offs, the Waaslanders have to get past Tchalou. Stragier, a reception/corner player, scored 69 points ahead of teammate Charlotte Krenicky (58) and Zuzana Sepelova (Tchalou, 41 points). She succeeds Nova Marring on the honors list. The Dutch loses AVO after last season for a German adventure.
