Show in the skies of Belluno with the “Dolomiti Cup”

After the first training launches, the traditional appointment at the airport returns at the weekend

Here is the Dolomiti Cup. It will be a weekend dedicated to parachuting and precision landings that will take place on Saturday and Sunday at the Arturo Dell’Oro airport in Belluno.

This is the thirteenth edition of an event that marks the opening of the season for the Belluno Parachuting Association and which constitutes a sort of prologue in view of the most anticipated event, the World Cup which will take place, as tradition, in the summer.

Although obviously there are no World Cup numbers, the Dolomiti Cup will be an event of great interest and with considerable technical content, with different nations represented.

“We have eighteen teams registered, coming from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Denmark, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and of course Italy”, explains Corrado Marchet, coordinator of the organizational staff. «Eight races are scheduled: it will start on Saturday morning and, weather permitting, it will go on for the whole day. The conclusion is scheduled for Sunday morning. Most of the formations have already been in Belluno for a few days for training, which is why from tomorrow (today for those who read ed) we will also have Eli Friulia’s helicopter to take the athletes up: the helicopter, in fact, guarantees a higher speed than the plane ».

A small starter of the race will take place tomorrow in Piazza dei Martiri. At 3.15 pm 5 international level paratroopers who are participating in the Dolomiti Cup will land. One of them will deploy a 180-meter flag, the same one that landed on 2 June 2021 in the presence of the President of the Republic landing in front of the Altare della Patria in Rome.

The Dolomiti Cup will be a sort of dress rehearsal for the most anticipated event of the year, the City of Belluno Trophy scheduled from 12 to 14 August, which will be the third of the five events of the World Cup Series, the landing world cup precision. The first is scheduled in Rijeka, Croatia, from 10 to 12 June. Then there will be Bled, in Slovenia, from 8 to 10 July. Then Belluno, Thalgau (Austria) from 26 to 28 August and Locarno (Switzerland) from 23 to 25 September.
