Historic world title for the blue colors at the Downhill skateboarding world championship in Tagaytay, in the Philippines. The Italian national team celebrates Stefano Barbizzi’s world title, won in the men’s downhill race. The athlete from Limbiate in Brianza leads Italy to win a World Skate Championship for the first time. All the Italians competing reached the final stage: 4 athletes placed 16th, with Bernardo Iandelli who for a few meters failed to pass to the quarterfinals, placing 12th in the world ranking. Marco Zeni, born in 2004, stood out on his national team debut, finishing eighth in the time trial. “Stefano won like a great champion – commented the Italian coach Matteo Dell’Orto – thanks to the experience of a technical background built up over the years and perseverance in constantly improving”.
