Forerunners form the preliminary program in the Ski World Cup. They are important. Or at least not unimportant: How Hannes Endstrasser throws himself down the Streif – so that one day he can follow it.
The first thirty seconds on the “Streif” are the coolest for Hannes Endstrasser: “From the start to the steep slope exit, that’s when things really get down to business. With a mousetrap, carousel and steep slope.”
Endstrasser, 21 years old, a blonde boy with an open look, sees himself as a ski racer. However, he formed his impression of the “Streif” as a viewer. The young man has often stood on the side of the track, watching the daredevil heroes of the slopes in World Cup races and wishing he could race down here too.
