The Rai journalist and presenter of Tg1 Dania Mondini denounced to the Prosecutor’s Office (as reported by the Republic) of having been the victim of a case of stalking in the workplace. The punishment? According to the indictment: being placed in a room with a colleague who has problems with flatulence. Mondini also mentioned the names and surnames of the five journalists-managers who at the time of the events – which took place in 2018 – they held top positions in the Tg of the RAI flagship. According to the Roman daily, these are Filippo Gaudenzi, Marco Betello, Piero Felice Damosso, Andrea Montanari and Costanza Crescimbeni.
According to the Rai half-length figure, the five journalists-managers would have it denial and moved next to a colleague accused of not being able to hold back farting and belching. Mondini in fact does not accept the transfer and opposes a “motivated refusal to service order”, on the other hand – according to the reconstruction of the accusation – she suffers other retaliations: she is entrusted with short and less important services, she is verbally attacked because of small errors committed during the running of the news. Hence the exasperation and the choice to denounce everything (and everyone).
The Mondini case moves from the halls of the news to those of the court. But not even the legal matter is simple. They are heard as testimonials six Rai journalists, five of them claim that there was no persecution against Mondini, while a colleague confirms the accusations. The prosecutor decides to ask archiving: there would have been no stalking but at most we could talk about mobbing. So no criminal offense, if anything, the case must go to the civil court.
And here comes the twist. The attorney general Marcello Monteleone he disagrees with the prosecutor and takes the investigation to himself, deciding to continue to investigate the 5 Rai journalists for stalking. In short, the case is by no means closed and could hold new surprises.
