Chinese Team Successfully Defends Title at 2024 Busan World Table Tennis Championships, 11 Teams Qualified for Paris Olympics

The Chinese national table tennis men’s team emerged victorious at the 2024 Busan World Table Tennis Team Championship, securing the Swaythlin Cup for the 23rd time. The team, led by coach Wang Hao and standout players such as Fan Zhendong and Sun Yingsha, successfully defended their title in a thrilling competition. The Chinese team’s performance earned them the top spot, with Fan Zhendong and Sun Yingsha also being named the best male and female athletes of the tournament.

The competition, which featured 40 men’s and 40 women’s teams, saw intense matches from start to finish. The Chinese women’s team faced tough opponents like the Indian team, while the men’s team had a nail-biting semi-final against the South Korean team. In the end, both Chinese teams came out on top, showcasing skill, determination, and teamwork.

With their victory, the Chinese teams secured their spots in the Paris Olympics table tennis team competition, alongside 9 other teams including Japan, Denmark, South Korea, and Chinese Taipei. The competition also saw notable performances from players like Ni Xialian and Alexander, as well as memorable moments like Fan Zhendong’s sportsmanship in requesting a change in the opponent’s score.
