The short championship of the Accademia Pavese ends between smiles and hugs, with a good 3-1 victory in the last home match that brings to 12 the final points in the standings in the ten games played (the same as in the tournament suspended last autumn after 4 matches), allowing the red and white of the patron Panigati to bypass Pavia (which, however, has two games to recover) and to detach Voghe. At the moment, among the provincials only Varzi has done better than the Balestra team. All in all, therefore, the Academy has done its duty and, as always, has given ample space to young people.
Usual vices and virtues in 90 ‘
Accademia Pavese-Settimo Milanese showed, in ninety minutes, all the vices and virtues of Mr. Balestra’s group: flashes of really good play alternating with pauses and blatant errors. A team that plays a little intermittently, in short, and that turns the light on and off several times during the match. It starts under the scorching sun (the thermometer shows 37 degrees) and after not even a minute Cicogna scares a decidedly “green” defense (Petrillo and Poliani surprise the two central ones). Two minutes later the Seventh is still very close to scoring: Laraia crosses very well from the left, but neither Cicogna nor Maugeri succeed in the head deviation. At 12 ‘on the shields Migliari, which three times in the same melee action he manages to neutralize.
