The event of 5-6 March hosted by the Us Asiago Sci, which celebrates the centenary. Alpine skiing on Monte Verena, while cross-country skiing will take place in Campolongo
For the first time after 43 editions, the finals of the Alpine and cross-country skiing Grand Prix Lattebusche will take place outside the province. It will in fact be the Us Asiago Sci to host the two final days of the very classic snow circuit. The appointment is for Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 March 2022. And it coincides with a particularly significant anniversary: the centenary of the foundation of the Asiago sports union.
«In 2022 we will celebrate the hundred years of history of our reality», says the president of the US Asiago Sci, Roberta Rodeghiero, «and we decided to connect this anniversary with the finals of the Lattebusche circuit. It will be a particularly important moment for us, taking into account that the circuit involves companies from all over the Veneto region ».
The two-day final of alpine skiing will be held at Verena, while the final of cross-country skiing will take place in Campolongo.
“We are happy and for us this fact is a source of pride: for the first time”, remembers Rodeghiero herself, “the trophy leaves the province of Belluno for its final act, something that has never happened so far, and is hosted right from us. We are very happy to be the first and at the same time we are convinced that, for the Lattebusche circuit, that of Asiago combined with the centenary of our company will be a truly important showcase ».
Who came from the proposal to move the important appointment to Asiago?
«The idea started with us. We spoke immediately with the president of the regional Fisi, Roberto Bortoluzzi, who has the task of regulating the race calendar. Together with him we wondered if it was feasible to combine the final of the Lattebusche circuit with the celebrations for the centenary of our company and, after talking with the managers of the trophy, it emerged that they too were fully in agreement. Thus, for the first time, the circuit will end outside the province of Belluno ».
Bortoluzzi himself confirmed that he had “received this request” and that he felt “right to say yes”.
Moreover, Asiago has always been a full member of the Lattebusche circuit.
«And, indeed, as a ski club we can count on a good pool», remembers Rodeghiero herself, «so much so that we always bring about thirty downhill athletes and about twenty in cross-country skiing. Furthermore, on 12 October we will receive the golden collar from Coni. Only three winter sports clubs in Italy have received it and we will be the first in the Veneto region ».
