On the 11th, the International Skating Union (ISU) released an email on whether the ISU has certified Yuzuru Hanyu’s Axel quadruple jump for the first time in history. “According to the referee’s detailed rating, the jump was not certified due to insufficient rotation,” the email read.
After the men’s single free skating event at the Beijing Winter Olympics, Yuzuru Hanyu’s first move was marked as “4A<" on the referee's scoring sheet. 2019/20 Season Action Difficulty Conditions and GOE Scoring Criteria", if the words "4A<<" appear, it means downgrading, that is, directly downgrading to 3A. But "4A<" means that the action is 4A, but it is less than a week and cannot be certified as a success.
