Parma, 3 July 2022 – Tragedy this morning during the rinterregional meeting of the Bersaglieri a Salsomaggiorein the province of Parma: the mayor of Soragna Matteo Concari, 44 years old, he is died for an illness, during the ceremony.
The mayor, with the tricolor sash, was participating in the rally together with some colleagues. He was reaching the town square when he suddenly collapsed. Useless attempts to revive him by the 118under shock the institutions and the population present.
Concari had been elected in September 2020 supported by the list Always for Soragna, supported by center right, and getting more than 40% of the preferences. On Tuesday 5 July she would have celebrated her birthday.
Business owner of the territory involved in the sector metalworkerhad already been councilor and deputy mayor in the mandate of Iaconi Farina. He leaves behind his wife and two children.
The condolences of the institutions and citizens
“A severe loss. A great pain in the face of news that really leaves you speechless. The thought goes immediately to the family, to which we are close and we all hug. The same goes to the community of Soragna ”, thus the president of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Stefano Bonaccini, expresses his condolences for the sudden death of the mayor Concari. “It was a great pain to learn about the sudden death of Matteo Concari. A capable administrator, within the institutions and close to his land and his fellow citizens always with passion e loyalty. A person whose untimely death is bound to leave a unbridgeable void”.
Many messages of condolence from citizens and administrators of the territory, including that of mayor of Salsomaggiore: “We still can not believe – he wrote Filippo Fritelli – that Matteo is no longer here with us, that such a sudden and lightning-fast illness has torn him away from us in what, for everyone, was a day in which we wanted to be together, not only as a citizens of Salsa, but as a single community provincial”.
Matteo “left with the tricolor band on his chest: in the pain I feel for the loss not only of a colleague, but also of a friend, I try to draw from what is the last image I have of him: person honest, respectable, very attached to institutions and whose commendable sense of duty has always, I believe, spurred many of us into the exercise of our functions “.
