On the occasion of the eagerly awaited UEFA Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter scheduled for Saturday 10 June, the new UEFA referee uniform will make its debut on the pitch at the Atatürk Olimpic Stadium in Istanbul, created by Macron in his capacity as “Official UEFA Referee Match Kit Supplier”.
The Macron Hero, which stands out on the match officials’ shirts and has accompanied the UEFA men’s and women’s refereeing sector since 2019, will therefore be the protagonist on the most prestigious pitch in Europe together with the ’11’ lined up by Pep Guardiola and Simone Inzaghi. The new kits will be available to all referee teams in the official UEFA competitions for the two-year period 2023-25, starting from the first qualifying rounds of the three European club competitions.
Like the previous ones, the new uniforms for UEFA referees are made with Eco Softlock fabric, polyester from 100% recycled plastic. Garments which, together with quality and technicality, ensure maximum comfort and maximum practicality, allowing you to best play such an important role as that of the race director and at the same time also interpreting a message of sustainability and sensitivity to the theme of the environment.
The new kits are available in four shades of colour: black, fluo yellow, fluo blue and fluo red, a new color compared to past seasons which will be worn by match officials in Istanbul. The sweater has a crew neck in knitwear and is equipped with comfortable front pockets with Velcro closure. On the front and on the sleeves there is an embossed graphic with a spike design, interspersed with the UEFA logo. On the chest, on the right, and on the shoulders the Macron Hero. The “UEFA FOUNDATION for children” patch is inserted on the left sleeve.
The UEFA referees’ match kit is completed by the shorts – black for all four versions – equipped with back pockets with Velcro closures and by the socks that match the color of the shirt. The fit is Slim, the main fabric is Eco Softlock and the inserts in Eco Micromesh ensure maximum breathability to the garment.
“The close relationship with the UEFA refereeing sector and the continuous and positive feedback we receive from the referees themselves allow us to improve the performance of the new collection every time. – Said Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron – The referee on the pitch must be able to perform his role to the fullest and practicality and comfort are fundamental. We are happy to give them top quality combined with the elegance of a refined and personalized design”.
