Tonight at 8 pm the «World Tour» of the «Banff Center Mountain Film Festival» will stop at Verdi in Candelo. Since 1976 the festival, one of the main and most prestigious international film reviews of adventure, mountain and outdoor sports films, has been organized in Banff, a city in the province of Alberta, Canada. At the foot of the Rocky Mountains every year, between the end of October and the beginning of November, for nine days, the best directors, adventurers, mountaineers and athletes come together to experience the passion for adventure together.

As soon as the festival closes, the tour starts, which brings a careful selection of the best films around the world, which therefore travel to more than 45 countries, reaching over 550,000 spectators, for a total of about 1,200 evenings, in 550 city. For ten years there has also been Italy, where this year the tour will touch 26 locations.

Tonight in Candelo the climber Marcello Bombardi, multiple champion and athlete of the La Sportiva team, will be present in the hall, who will talk about his life dedicated to climbing until the success of the first free ascent of La Cura 9a in Ollomont (Aosta). Born in 1993 in Correggio and originally from a small town in the province of Modena, Bombardi began climbing at the age of eight in the gym, discovering climbing almost by chance. Having no cliffs close to home, competitions have been his main commitment, but he likes to climb natural rock as soon as he gets the chance. During the evening, for all lovers of mountaineering, skiing and freeride, climbing and mountain biking, there will be ten films on ten adventures. They range from the first ascent of an untouched mountain in Karakorum, Link Sar, to an original freeride descent between France and Slovenia with an unexpected destination. Then listen to the story of Pasang Lhamu Sherpa Akita, the first Nepalese woman to become an international mountaineering instructor. Other adventures take place between the evocative lights and atmospheres of Cappadocia and the dirt roads of Silverton, Colorado. Canada and South Africa are the setting for the choral story of a group of dogs free to run at breakneck speed in the woods, alongside their companions who instead ride on a mountain bike.
