According to news on June 7, the Philippine Basketball Association announced the 2023 Men’s Basketball World Cup 21-man preliminary list, and Clarkson, who played for the NBA’s Utah Jazz, was selected.
In the 22-23 season, Clarkson played 61 regular season games, averaging 32.6 minutes, 20.8 points, 4 rebounds and 4.4 assists.
In addition to Clarkson, the potential rising star Kai Soto is also on the big list. However, Green, the previously rumored Houston Rockets, was not selected.
The Philippines is one of the hosts of this year’s FIBA Basketball World Cup, and they are in Group A along with Angola, Dominican Republic and Italy. The Philippines may meet the Chinese team in Group B in the play-offs.
