Goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán of Tigres has once again made headlines for his unsportsmanlike behavior. During the Clásico Regio 135, Guzmán was caught using a laser to bother Monterrey’s goalkeeper, Esteban Andrada. Despite being absent from the game due to an operation, Guzmán was in the box assigned to the university club and was caught on video directing the laser towards Andrada.
BBVA security eventually evicted Guzmán from the box after Andrada complained about the laser. Monterrey has reported the incident and will be seeking a sanction through official channels.
This is not the first time Guzmán has been involved in controversy. He was suspended for a red card in the 2023 Apertura Final and has a history of confrontations with both players and staff. Guzmán’s behavior has led to fights, accusations of attacks, and inappropriate gestures towards opponents.
Despite these incidents, Guzmán has not faced significant sanctions in the past. Monterrey and other teams will be looking for appropriate action to be taken in this latest incident of unsportsmanlike behavior.
