Luz Ardiden, July 15, 2021 – The stage changes, the 18 of Tour de France 2021, but not the substance: to win on the last important climbs of the Big loop it’s still Tadej Pogacar, which exactly as yesterday precedes with a long and powerful sprint Jonas Vingegaard e Richard Carapaz, a trio that also reproduces what everyone looks at from above in a general classification from which it comes out definitively Rigoberto Uran. Despite the 207 km, the stage 19, who will lead the caravan from Mourenx a Libourne, will make the climbers and the men fighting for the ranking breathe, providing the sprinters left in the group with the penultimate chance to raise their arms to the sky.
The breaking latest news
On the Loucrup Coast (2 km with an average slope of 7%) from the group attack Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quick Step) e Matej Mohoric (Bahrain Victorious), whose pursuit on the first ramps of the Tourmalet (17,1 km with an average slope of 7,3% and maximum of 13%) various groups of runners are launched. Among them Ruben Warrior (EF Education-Nippo), Omar friar (Astana-Premier Tech), David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) e Pierre Latour (Team TotalEnergies), with only the latter two who manage to cross the hill in the lead: in the meantime, the yellow jersey is still detached Rigoberto Uran (EF Education-Nippo), literally adrift on Pyrenees. Downhill Gaudu makes the vacuum before being reabsorbed at the beginning of the climb towards Light Ardiden (13,5 km with an average slope of 7,5%), which represents the last ascent of a certain level of Tour. The first to attack, for a change, is Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates): they stay with him Jonas Vingegaard, Sepp Kuss (Jumbo-Visma), Richard Carapaz (Ineos Grenadiers) ed Enric Mas (Movistar). Once again, the squad of the best is regulating Pogacar, ever closer to the ultimate success of this one Big loop.
