Riccione (Rimini), February 19, 2022 – Romagna is already thinking about summerimagine large influxes of tourists for the next season and launch a appeal, especially to young people: “Come and work on the Riviera”. The initiative is of Bruno Bianchinipresident of Federalberghi Riccione.
Even though the middle of February has just passed, the accommodation facilities on the coast are already working to find adequate and sufficient staff for a summer that promises to be, even in the 2022, from record numbers. Thus, “mindful of the difficulties of last year – explains Bianchini – this year the research started earlier and with greater energy”. The first test, as usual, will be there Easter. Hotels, restaurants and bathing establishments do not want to be found unprepared and unmanned so that, already now, the first announcements have been published and the first talks started.
The shortage of staff it’s an old problem: the summer of 2020 was tragic from this point of view with the structures that on average opened with half of the usual collaborators but also in 1921 the problems were many.
On the one hand, the unions have always complained about the sometimes not with respect to employment contractsthe general conditions of the duties and the inadequate wages; on the other, the trade associations point the finger at those welfare tools, first of all the citizenship income, which would entice many people to stay on the couch at home.
The truth, as always happens, lies somewhere in between. “If there are improvements on the pandemic and regulatory front – observes Bianchini -, it is presumable to think that the numbers of Easter openings will be in line with expectations and it is conceivable that there is work”.
Finally the dear bills: “I want to hope that the increases in costs and prices we are witnessing – concludes the leader of the Riccione hoteliers – will not affect the propensity to consume the holiday”.
