Two classic seasonal events return to the Ivrea territory, the Sirio Special Swimming, open water swimming competitions now in its third edition, Saturday 25 September, and the Baldassarre Trophy, a Triathlon competition scheduled for Sunday 26 September now in its seventh edition.
Both events are based on Lake Sirio in Ivrea, at Chalet Moia. Organizing company of the Sirio Special Swimming is the Asd Corona Ferrea based in Monza, but present in the Piedmont area with the Turin Section. Corona Ferrea swimming was born on the initiative of a group of parents of children and adults with frailty with the aim of actively promoting motor and sports practice. The event on 25 September is therefore characterized by a high value of inclusion, as athletes with intellectual, relational and sensorial fragility and athletes without fragility will compete in the true spirit of Unified Sports. The program includes two classic Open Water distances 1500 meters and 3000 meters in the morning and, in the afternoon for the first time, in sharing with the Baldassarre trophy, the Swim Run (400 swimming, 1000 running) and Acquathlon (1000 running) specialties are played. , 400 swimming, 1000 running). Qualitry is instead entrusted with the organizer of the Baldassarre trophy, the American soubrette Justine Mattera will be present at this year’s event, as testimonial and participant, while the DJs of Radio Alfa Discovintage are preparing to live live from Lake Sirio for the news. Two days during which three hundred athletes, the limit set by Qualitry to respect the Covid protocol, will measure themselves on Saturday races to move on to the highlight of Sunday. Sunday’s program foresees at 10:45 the start of the seventh edition of the Olympic Triathlon of Baldassarre, followed a few minutes by the start of the Sprint distance.
