BEIJING. Two more medals arrive to enrich Italy’s booty at the Beijing Winter Olympics. Both podiums were won in speed skating, short track. First the bronze medal in the relay race in the men’s 5000 meters, with the third place assigned to the photo finish, behind Canada and Korea, then the silver for Arianna Fontana in the 1500s behind the Korean Minjeong Choi and in front of the Dutch Suzanne Schulting.
For Arianna Fontana it is the 11th medal at the Winter Games, an absolute record. Italy, on the other hand, sees its tally at the Chinese Olympics grow to 15 podiums: 2 golds, 7 silvers and 6 bronzes.
