Ukraine: Putin goes to a rally with the “Z” on his shirt, Olympic swimming champion loses sponsor

Russian swimming champion Evgeny Rylov lost Speedo’s sponsorship after attending a rally for Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow last week. Winner of two gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics, the young man was seen at the meeting wearing the letter ‘Z’, used as a symbol of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Speedo announced that it had “put an end to the sponsorship with immediate effect”, while the FINA – International Swimming Federation said it was “deeply saddened” by its appearance at Putin’s rally, announcing an investigation into the matter.
