The history of the WEmbrace Games – 2024 will be the twelfth edition of the WEmbrace Games. The event was born in 2011 with the name “Games Without Barriers”, inspired by the historic Games Without Borders. It is an evening of spectacular and scenographic games that promotes inclusion from a geographical point of view, just like the Games Without Borders, but also and above all from a social point of view, between people with and without disabilities, to break down physical obstacles and not only. After years of success, in 2022 “Giochi Senza Barriere” became “WEmbrace Games”. The renewed name integrates with the launch of the “WEmbrace” movement, i.e. “We embrace”, which through art4sport events and projects aims to promote inclusion, embracing and enhancing everyone’s diversity, through art4sport events and projects. The triptych of the movement’s annual events is made up of the WEmbrace Games (in Rome), the WEmbrace Awards (in Milan) and the WEmbrace Sport (in Milan).
