WEmbrace Games, the tenth edition of the Games without barriers wanted by Bebe Vio with illustrious guests on Monday in Rome

An event that embraces the whole world, whether sporting or not. After the forced stop due to the pandemic, the WEmbrace Games are back, the event created by the blue star Bebe Vio with the name of Games without barriers and which this year crosses the milestone of ten editions. The 360 ° party will be hosted by an iconic place such as the Stadio dei Marmi in Rome, on the evening of Monday 13 June starting at 20.

Dad Ruggero Vio will explain the fun format: «For those who remember them, it is a kind of remake of Games without Borders, with participants of all ages, from adults to children, without distinction. Fun is guaranteed. “We embrace” means we embrace because we want to launch this message of inclusion. There will also be many sports and entertainment personalities, friends of Bebe, who will take the field to play, but then, since there is something up for grabs, they will give it their all “.

Among the guests present, there are the names of the former rugby player Martin Castrogiovanni, the swimmer Simona Quadarella, the multiple Olympic ice medalist Arianna Fontana, the gymnast Vanessa Ferrari, the Tokyo gold medal in the high Gianmarco Tamberi, the comedian Tess Masazza and of the singers Annalisa Minetti, Fellow and Paola Turci. Participants will be divided into eight teams, representing seven Italian cities plus a selection from the Old Continent, given that the event is sponsored by the European Parliament and the European Commission. In addition to having fun, the aim is to do good by raising funds for Art4Sport, the non-profit organization that creates cutting-edge sports prostheses to bring boys and girls of all ages closer to the world of sport. This year the theme will be music and the songs of Lorenzo Jovanotti, a great friend of the wheelchair fencing champion, will act as the soundtrack to the evening, opened by the fanfare of the Police (Bebe is an athlete of the Fiamme Oro).

Bebe herself takes care of launching the invitation for the event (at this link more information for tickets: https://www.art4sport.org/wembrace-games/), with the Roman accent: “Li mejo Giochi de always are coming. I will be in the Rome team with Tamberi and the beach volley ace Daniele Lupo. I hope to win since, out of nine editions, with my team we have only won one. Many people have understood the purpose of WEmbrace, which is to overcome all types of barriers and enhance the beauty of diversity by embracing them. We are ready to face any obstacle like this and to show that if you work as a team, you can do everything. The goal is to create a culture on disability, as Luca Pancalli does with the Italian Paralympic Committee and the project is to expand around the world with the promotional initiatives of WEmbrace Sport, which we launched last autumn at the Allianz Cloud in Milan, while we want to keep the Games proper in Rome, because this is the ideal context ».

An event that also makes CIP number one happy, Luca Pancalli: «It is an extraordinary initiative, which makes us hug and have fun again after a long time. She will be crazy cool, to put it “alla Bebe”, as she was in the past, but this time she will be even more so. An evening of fun, in the name of inclusion and I believe that music can be representative of the integration we are looking for ». The number one of Coni, Giovanni Malagò, echoes him: «We are preparing, we are arriving. I was there when this event was born as Games without barriers and is now growing and expanding big time. Long live the WEmbrace Games ».

Supporting the Games also Maurizio Molinari, live from Strasbourg, representing the European Parliament: «These initiatives are something that seriously includes because sport and Europe are two sides of the same coin. As the late David Sassoli said, Europe makes sense if it leaves no one behind and so does sport. I am a blind person and I believe that there is nothing as inclusive as sport, an example that the European Union must also follow ”.

The WEmbrace Games are also very popular with the president of Sport and Health, Vito Cozzoli: «You can feel the passion for sport, which in addition to sports is also health and well-being. Art4sport does great things to convey the message of a sport for everyone, without exclusions or barriers. We embrace and support a project like this ». So let the Games for all begin.
