The New York Yankees are set to make a historic visit to Mexico City to play against the Red Devils at Harp Helú Stadium. However, before the Bronx Bombers set foot on the field, the Devils board had to meet a demanding list of requirements to ensure that the Yankees’ visit goes smoothly.
According to the MLB collective agreement, the Yankees had around 50 to 60 points that needed to be checked and fulfilled for their visit. These requirements included amenities such as a hot tub, hydrocollator, ultrasound machine, examination table, and even a specific mattress thickness for the beds in the dressing rooms. Additionally, changes were made to the Alfredo Harp Helú Stadium to accommodate the team, including new electrical installations and fiber optic plans.
The experience gained from hosting the MLB World Tour Mexico City Series in past years helped the Red Devils meet all requirements on time. The Yankees will also arrive in Mexico via the Felipe Ángeles Airport, where government security personnel have accompanied them to ensure their safety and coordinate the security operation, including anti-bomb protocols.
Despite the challenges of meeting the Yankees’ demanding requirements, the Red Devils are excited to host the legendary team in Mexico City. The games are set to take place on March 24th and 25th, showcasing the historic striped uniforms that have become synonymous with the New York Yankees.
