ASROCK FP6TM-ITX motherboard: A Niche Product for Thin Mini-ITX Enthusiasts
ASROCK has launched the FP6TM-ITX motherboard, a Thin Mini-ITX form factor motherboard with a built-in 6-core, 12-thread AMD Ryzen 5 5500U mobile processor. This is a relatively niche market, as Thin Mini-ITX cases are uncommon in Hong Kong. However, for users willing to search online, there are cases about 2L in size that use external power supplies. When paired with the FP6TM-ITX motherboard, they can assemble a slim mini-document system. This motherboard is one of the few on the market that uses AMD mobile processors.
Despite its small size, the FP6TM-ITX boasts an impressive range of features, including support for external 19V DC power supply, dual M.2 SSD, reserved M.2 Key E expandable Wi-Fi network module, and a blower fan radiator for effective cooling. It also supports DDR4 SO-DIMM memory with a maximum capacity of 64GB and has 2 sets of M.2 SSD interfaces and 2 sets of SATA 3 interfaces for storage. The motherboard also features 1Gbps LAN, a M.2 Wi-Fi expansion slot, Realtek ALC269 audio module, and HDMI, D-Sub display output.
In performance tests, the FP6TM-ITX proved to be capable with a PCMark 10 score of 8952 points for Essential, 7841 points for Productivity, and 4797 points for Digital Content Creation. In 3DMark tests, it achieved scores suitable for older and lower load 3D games. The power consumption and heat dissipation tests also showed that the motherboard performed well under load.
The ASROCK FP6TM-ITX motherboard is a unique offering in the market, catering to the needs of Thin Mini-ITX enthusiasts. Although it may not be widely used in Hong Kong, it provides a versatile platform for users looking to build compact and efficient systems.
