The latest data released by research company Newzoo has shed light on the top performing console and PC games in the European and American markets for the first quarter of 2024. The rankings are based on overall game revenue, in-app purchases, and advanced payment options in major markets such as North America, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy.

Topping the list is the free battle royale shooting game “Fortress Heroes” by Epic Games, accounting for 10% of the overall game revenue in the first three months of the year. Following closely behind is the popular football game “EA Sports FC 24″ in Europe, capturing 8.3% of the revenue.

Other notable entries include the multiplayer cooperative PvE game “Battlefield 2” in third place, Activision Blizzard’s shooting game “Decisive Call: Modern War 2” in fourth place, and the basketball game “NBA 2K24” in fifth place. Rounding out the top ten are games like “Madden NFL 24”, “Dragon Doctrine 2”, “Phantom Pallu”, and “Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege”.

In terms of newly released games, “Battlefield 2” led the pack, followed by Capcom’s “Dragon’s Doctrine 2” and the wrestling game “WWE 2K24”. The top five also includes “Phantom Pallu” and the remake of the classic role-playing game “Persona 3 Reload”.

“Fortress Heroes” emerged as the best-selling console game in the first quarter, while “Battlefield 2” and “Phantom Pallu” topped the PC platform. Despite a slight decrease in overall global game market revenue compared to 2022, forecasts suggest a steady growth towards a $205.7 billion market by 2026. The gaming industry continues to thrive and evolve, with new releases and innovations driving revenue and engagement.
