New Operating System Update Causes Panic Among Xiaomi Users
Yesterday, Xiaomi released its new update schedule and compatible devices for its latest operating system, HyperOS. This new OS is set to replace MIUI on Xiaomi, Redmi, and BIT smartphones. While the exact rollout dates for these updates are still unknown, some POCO X5 and F5 owners woke up to a concerning surprise this morning ā their phones were locked.
A list of Xiaomi devices confirmed for the HyperOS update has also been revealed, including popular models such as Xiaomi 13, Redmi Note 13, and Redmi Note 12 series.
However, the update seems to have caused panic among users as reports surface of devices being completely locked and requiring a factory reset, which would result in the loss of all data stored on the phone. Users are expressing their frustration over the lack of information from Xiaomi and the risk of losing precious photos and information.
Xiaomi has yet to address the issue and provide a solution. In the meantime, users are advised to disable automatic updates and avoid updating their firmware until Xiaomi releases a patch to fix the issue.
The situation has left many Xiaomi users on edge, unsure of what to do with their locked devices. As the company works to resolve the problem, users are urged to proceed with caution when updating their smartphones to HyperOS.
