A 2013 Call of Duty game titled Future Warfare or NX1 may have been canceled by Neversoft, based on two leaked videos that have appeared online. The videos showcase single-player and multiplayer footage of the game, and Neversoft developer Brian Bright has confirmed the game’s existence.

According to Bright, Neversoft pivoted from developing Guitar Hero to create its own futuristic Call of Duty game after the failure of Infinite Warfare. “This mission is on the moon, some low-gravity experiments, it’s really about the team’s learning engine,” Bright wrote.

He also stated that “We had 2-3 campaign missions and got a bunch of MP work done before they were canceled (I was the head of MP).”

The cancellation of NX1 has left fans wondering whether the game will ever see the light of day. With the leak of the gameplay footage, there is now renewed interest in the potential release of the game.

For now, it remains to be seen whether Neversoft will revisit the concept of NX1 and potentially release it in the future. But for fans of the Call of Duty franchise, the leaked footage has certainly sparked excitement and speculation about the possibility of Future Warfare or NX1 being resurrected.
