Greentech Solar: Registration of balcony power plants is now easier

Registering a balcony power plant has been much easier since April 1st. From Easter Monday, the Federal Network Agency will simplify the registration of balcony power plants in the market master data register (MaStR), as the authority announced on Thursday. The user navigation in the system will also be modernized.

In the future, operators will only have to enter five pieces of information about their balcony power plant in addition to their personal information, said Klaus MĆ¼ller, President of the Federal Network Agency. Previously there were around 20 details.

ā€œThese simplifications represent a significant reduction in bureaucracy during registration,ā€ emphasized MĆ¼ller. People should be able to participate in the energy transition as easily as possible.

ā€œBalcony power plants can now be registered quickly and unbureaucratically,ā€ emphasized MĆ¼ller.

Balcony power plants are booming: 1.6 million new ā€œpower generation plantsā€ will be built in 2023

According to the Federal Network Agency, 1.6 million new ā€œpower generation plantsā€ were built and registered in the MaStR last year, of which 300,000 were balcony power plants.

ā€œThis shows that the energy transition has reached the broader population,ā€ explained MĆ¼ller. Therefore, a simplified and practical way to register these systems is essential. By simplifying registration, the Federal Network Agency is paving the way for all systems to be an effective part of the energy transition.
