How to choose when to restart Windows 11? The Active Hours option

After seeing how to install Windows 11 without a Microsoft account, let’s look into another important issue related to the Microsoft operating system: that of updates. With this short guide, in fact, we explain how set a time for windows 11 updates.

The PC updates can be a problem if they ask you to restart the device (or worse, force you to do it) while you are using it for work, study, entertainment or a gaming session. However, you may not know that it is possible to set the Activity Hours to prevent an annoying (however useful) update from interrupting your workflow.

To do this, open the Windows Settings, and from here go down to Windows Update. In the submenu of Microsoft’s OS updates you will then have to click on “Advanced options” and finally go down to Activity schedule, which you can set according to the times you prefer. The default setting goes from 8:00 to 17:00, but by clicking on the drop-down to the right of the Activity Hours box, you can manually modify the hours, extending or reducing them according to your needs.

During the Hours of Activity, your PC will not restart automatically to install updates. It is therefore a very useful trick to allow you to work without fear of being interrupted by an update.

If you want to be sure that your PC does not restart by itself even outside working hours, you can activate the toggle “Notify me when a restart is required to complete an update”. This toggle it is always found in the operating system Settings, in the Windows Update submenu and in the “Advanced Options” drop-down menu. But before you forget to restart your PC for weeks, do yourself a favor: remember to install the Windows 11 Moment 3 22H2 update!
