The latest update should actually make the game more secure. But instead, League of Legends players have to worry about their PC. Because the introduced anti-cheat toll causes some problems.

With the latest patch, the anti-cheat software “Vanguard” has found its way into League of Legends. It is the same tool that is used in Valorant. There have been difficulties there a few times in the past. However, the current problems in League of Legends overshadow this.
As various reports show, the software can mess up a lot of things on the PC. In the most harmless cases, the game simply crashes. In other cases, however, other programs are also affected and, if you are unlucky, the entire system will be paralyzed.
This is what happened to YouTuber LS, who specializes in League of Legends. On the short message service X He reports that two of his PCs were “destroyed” by the update and could no longer be started. At least he was able to get one of the two PCs working again via a detour.
Riot Games, the people behind League of Legends, don’t see any serious problems. Accordingly, contrary to what is described on social media, there have not yet been any confirmed cases in which hardware was damaged by the tool. In general, the introduction went well. A significant decline in bots has already been observed. By the way: Linux systems have been completely excluded with the latest update.
