Microsoft Announces Cross-Platform Schedule for Four Xbox Exclusive Games

In a significant shift from its traditional game business strategy, Microsoft has revealed that it will be launching several Xbox exclusive games on other platforms. Today, the tech giant announced the cross-platform schedule for four games: “Hi-Fi RUSH”, “Pentiment”, “Grounded”, and “Sea of Thieves”.

“Hi-Fi RUSH”, developed by Tango Gameworks, follows the story of Ah Cha, a rock star hopeful, and his allies as they battle evil robots to resist large corporations. This action-packed game, known for its synchronization of characters, environments, and battles with music, has already gained significant popularity and even won the TGA2023 Best Sound Design Award. The game is set to be released on March 19 and will be available on the PlayStation 5.

Next up is “Repentance”, a role-playing game set in the late Middle Ages, developed by Obsidian Entertainment. Players will step into the shoes of Andreas Merrell, a master of picture books, to unravel a murderous conspiracy hidden under the peaceful façade of the Bavarian countryside. “Repentance” is scheduled for release on February 22 and will be available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.

“Grounded”, another creation by Obsidian Entertainment, is a survival adventure game where players are shrunk to the size of an ant and must struggle to survive in the backyard. With the option to play solo or with up to four players, “Grounded” offers a unique gameplay experience. The game is set to be released on April 16 and will be available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.

Players can sail and explore the world alone or with a team of up to four players. The game, scheduled for release on April 30, will be available on the PlayStation 5.

The move to make these Xbox exclusive games available on other platforms marks a significant shift in Microsoft’s game business strategy, and it will be interesting to see how this decision impacts the gaming industry as a whole.
