In the game you take on the role of a young woman named Anita who is looking for her friend Maya. The only clue she has are text messages from her friend. These lead them to a mysterious and creepy housing estate where pure horror awaits them.

For example, in the game they address the problem of constant networking through smartphones and social media and integrate this into the game.

Sony writes:

Life under this shadow [Social Media] is becoming increasingly complex and demanding, which is increasingly causing people to struggle with many difficulties. Particularly affected are young people who are isolated in society, experience online abuse and face bullying and exclusion at school. The story of the game “Silent Hill: The Short Message” focuses on such young characters who are going through these difficulties. Even a small setback can drive them deeper into despair, but at the same time, the smallest act of kindness can bring her back to reality. The game is intended to be a message to everyone who has to deal with conflict and pressure in everyday life.

They also released a new trailer for the long-awaited remake of Silent Hill 2. Fans of the series can definitely look forward to further content.
