Spotify recently introduced a new AI feature that can create playlists from text prompts. So if you’re looking for a playlist that sounds like “Warm summer rain on your skin” or “An up-beat playlist I can dance to,” you might like the new AI feature. Initially, this feature will be tested in beta in the UK and Australia. In the future, you can type in a prompt in an AI chat and Spotify will then throw out the desired playlist. There are hardly any limits to creativity.
Spotify suggests that when interacting with the AI, you could refer to animals, places, activities, movie characters, colors or even emojis. Alternatively, genres, moods, artists or publication periods can also be suggested. Spotify emphasizes that current events and brands are blocked from prompts. In addition, offensive prompts are not supported.
AI boom also at Spotify
Music streaming provider Spotify is also fully relying on the AI boom. After the AI DJ comes the AI playlists. With DJ mode, a voice generated in real time greets you and then plays music tailored specifically to you. Personally tailored playlists then follow with the new feature. You can then simply save the playlist created by the AI in your library. You can also customize the playlists individually, for example by deleting or adding songs. If you don’t like the first suggestion, you can give the AI even more precise instructions. For example, you can tell the AI that you would like to have pop music in your playlist.
But with new AI functions come further price increases. This initially affects five selected countries, including Great Britain, Australia and the USA. Tariffs there are expected to increase by $1 to $2 per month. You can find more information about this in this article.
