The latest hardware survey report released by Steam for March 2024 has revealed some interesting trends in the world of PC gaming. According to the report, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 has emerged as the most popular graphics card among Steam users. This comes at a time when the GeForce GTX 16 series is slowly fading out of the market.

The GeForce RTX 3060 is praised for being priced at a sweet spot while also supporting ray tracing and DLSS technology. Its popularity can also be attributed to its availability in the second-hand market and price reductions, making it a preferred choice over lower-end models like the GeForce RTX 3050 or the older GeForce RTX 2060.

The report also highlighted that all of the top 15 graphics cards in the survey belonged to NVIDIA, with the GeForce RTX 3060 leading the pack. In fact, NVIDIA graphics cards accounted for a staggering 78% of Steam players, followed by AMD at 14.64% and Intel at 7.24%.

On the CPU front, Intel processors continued to dominate with a market share of 68.07%, while AMD held a 31.93% share. The most popular CPU configuration among players was the 6-core setup, followed closely by 8-core processors. Surprisingly, 4-core CPUs still garnered a significant number of users, indicating a preference for different core configurations among gamers.

Overall, the hardware survey report for March 2024 showcases the dominance of NVIDIA in the graphics card market and the ongoing competition between Intel and AMD in the CPU space. As technology continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how these trends shift in the coming months.
