That time BNN broadcast a real act of cannibalism on TV

Dennis Storm and Valerio Zeno are two Dutch television hosts for BNN, who became famous for a very controversial episode: they engaged in a act of pure cannibalismconsuming each otherā€™s cooked meat.

The macabre experiment was preceded by surgery who removed the muscles of the buttock of the first and from the abdomen of the second. Next, a cook fried the parts and served them to the hosts with some asparagus. Storm described Zenoā€™s abdomen as looking like ā€œa car tireā€, while the buttock has been compared to the Kobe beef. The viewer Anna Mees did not hesitate to expose herself online about the staging, rightly considered disturbing.

The hosts attempted to recall the film ā€œAlive,ā€ which portrays survival cannibalism; furthermore, the two declared that they did not intend to to repeat the experimentdue to the need to repeat the surgery.

In the Netherlands the Cannibalism is not illegal, unless it involves mistreatment or indecency. Due to the ambiguity of the news, the media praised the hoax studied to thisbut BNN and Zeno silenced the controversy by showing their scar to the public.

Dutch television is famous for its pioneering formats; it is no coincidence that ā€œBig Brotherā€ was born in the Netherlands.
