“Shipwreck Survival Game ‘Gift’ Showcased at 2024 Taipei Game Show”

The highly anticipated game “Gift: Shipwreck Survival” (Gift) was unveiled for trial play at the 2024 Taipei Game Show. Developed by Japanese card manufacturer Bushiroad’s game department, Toydium, and Million Edge, Gift offers players a unique experience of surviving a sinking luxury cruise ship.

In the game, players take on the role of an old man who wakes up on a sinking cruise ship and encounters trapped tourists while trying to escape. The gameplay features side-scrolling mechanics, requiring players to navigate through the ship’s various dangers and obstacles as the water level rises and the ship tilts.

One of the standout aspects of the game is the interaction with other passengers on the ship, each with their own wishes and emotions. The demo version showcased a little girl wearing glasses, hinting at the critical experiences players will encounter in the full 10-hour version of the game.

With support for 24 languages, including Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and French, players will need to carefully observe scenes and NPC behavior details on the screen as the plot does not have subtitles. The game’s protagonist, wearing a diving helmet, will go through various appearances, adding a sense of mystery for players to uncover.

“Gift” is set to be released on Steam (PC), PS5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch on May 9, 2024, with the demo version now available for download for eager gamers.
