The first season of the live-action adaptation of “Avatar – The Lord of the Elements” has been running on Netflix for around two weeks. This was apparently so successful that further seasons were immediately confirmed.

As Netflix announced in a press release, there will be a total of two more seasons of “Avatar – The Lord of the Elements”. The live-action adaptation follows the structure of the original. The animated series from 2005 was also split into three seasons.
However, the new Netflix series does not come close to the good reviews of the original. While the animated series has 9.3 out of 10 possible stars on the IMDb rating platform, the new interpretation has so far only achieved 7.4 stars. That’s not bad, but it’s not outstanding either.
Netflix shouldn’t care about the ratings as long as the viewer numbers are right. And that was the case here: since its release, the first season has already had more than 41 million viewers. The series was #1 in 76 countries and in the top 10 in 92 countries. It remains at #1 on Netflix’s global charts.
According to reports, the next two seasons should be filmed as quickly as possible so that the actors, some of whom are still quite young, do not grow out of their roles. However, it is still completely unclear when they will be broadcast.
