Abylight Studios Set to Launch City-Building Strategy Game “Citadelum”
Abylight Studios has announced its plan to launch the urban construction strategy game “Citadelum” in 2024. Developed by Abylight Barcelona, the game will be available on platforms such as PC Steam/Epic Games Store and is set to support multiple languages including Simplified Chinese, English, and Japanese.
Set in the legendary ancient Rome, “Citadelum” is a city-building strategy game that allows players to build villages, configure houses and buildings, build water bridges, and arenas to make their cities thrive. Players can also lead their own Rome legion to conquer barbarians and obtain new lands, or send expeditions to find legendary holy relics in order to expand and trade with other forces to make their city stronger.
One unique feature of the game is the inclusion of elements that allow players to communicate with the gods. By building temples, players can receive help from the gods, but they must be cautious as it may attract the wrath of opposing gods, making city construction more difficult. Deepening communication with the gods can result in giant gods descending on the city and bringing various blessings, adding an exciting and unpredictable aspect to the game.
To increase the playability of the game, encounters with the gods and tasks given will be carried out in real-time, providing players with a different experience each time they play.
With its blend of urban construction, territorial control, and interaction with the gods, “Citadelum” promises to be an engaging and immersive gaming experience for strategy game enthusiasts. Keep an eye out for its release in 2024.
