Samsung is presenting new display technologies that are intended to overshadow the current generation of folding smartphones. The innovations include screens that can be folded in different directions and even rolled up. Samsung also has displays developed specifically for the automotive sector in stock.
Samsung shows new foldable and rollable displays
Samsung has a whole range at the CES 2024 technology trade fair in Las Vegas new and improved display technologies presented. Everything is included, from flexible, foldable smartphones to new displays for vehicles.
With the „In & Out Flip“ Samsung shows the prototype of a flip cell phone that is can be bent 360 degrees. Unlike traditional foldable devices that require an additional second panel, the “In & Out Flip” offers a single display. According to Samsung, this results in a slimmer design. Customers don’t have to worry about durability, as tests have shown.
This is another highlight „Rollable Flex“which adjusts its screen size by a roll-up mechanism increase fivefold can. Samsung is also presenting the “Flex Hybrid”, which combines foldable and rollable technologies (source: Samsung).

Samsung has this specifically for cars „Flex Note Extendable“ developed. This is a foldable panel that has its size expand from 11 inches to up to 17.3 inches can.
