TikTok returns to Turin Book Fair 2024 with its renewed role as Official Entertainment Partner. It thus confirms its growing impact on the Italian cultural system. An evolution that the entertainment platform, with 19.7 million users in Italy, has decided to celebrate together with the visitors of the Show. He welcomes them into one larger standas well as with the community, creating one dedicated space in the app to explore #BookTok content and conversations. But the celebrations don’t end here thanks to the arrival, for the first time in Italy, of the TikTok Book Awards. An initiative during which the community will be asked to elect their favorite books, authors, creators and publishing houses, assisted by a pre-selection by an exceptional jury led by Annalena Beninidirector of the Salon.

The idea was born from the desire to celebrate the titles, authors, contents and creators who have made the #BookTok ecosystem unique in Italy. But also to establish the strong link with the world of culture and books. There are 7 categories subject to evaluation. For each category, candidates were selected through the evaluation of in-app conversations.
This led to the creation of 4 shortlist e 3 long list: the shortlists will be directly voted on by users, while the longlists will be evaluated initially by a jury that reflects the multiple dimensions of #BookTok: from the incisive strength of the words, to those who promote them and tell their stories. Chaired by Annalena Benini, the jury will determine who will be able to compete in the following three categories: “BookTok creator dell’anno”, “Publishing house of the year”, “Author of the year”.
The community will then have the final say, voting for your preferences from 11 to 29 April directly on TikTok. The TikTok Book Awards ceremony at Book Fair 2024 will be held on May 11th at the Giovanni Agnelli Auditorium, Lingotto Congress Center. The winners will receive a cash prize of 5,000 dollars, which will be entirely donated to charities active in the sector of promoting culture and in particular reading, or any other charity in line with the spirit linked to the BookTok Awards; the receiving organization will be selected by the winner himself.
