New NES Game Emulator “Bimmy” Removed from App Store After Launch
Following the recent removal of the “iGBA” game emulator from the App Store due to plagiarism issues, a new NES emulator called “Bimmy” was launched globally. However, just shortly after its release, the author decided to voluntarily remove the simulator from the shelves.
“Bimmy” is an NES emulator that already had an Android version available. The game can be loaded through various cloud drives and supports dual play with Bluetooth controllers. While a simple test revealed that it can play some old games, there were also many games that could not be loaded smoothly. Despite being approved for release on the App Store, it is uncertain if Apple’s policies regarding emulators will be affected by this incident.
The author issued an apology to users in a discussion forum after removing the software, stating that he did so out of caution and not because of any external pressure. Users who had downloaded the emulator prior to its removal can still use it.
It remains to be seen whether “Bimmy” will be re-launched in the future or if it will face similar issues as its predecessor. Stay tuned for more updates on the latest developments in the world of game emulators.
