iPhone 15 Pro

In terms of advantages, the ProRes format allows you to obtain greater color fidelity and reduced compression. This translates into videos that weigh more than “traditional” ones. Also on the models in question, it is possible to take advantage of the ProRes format on all cameras, including the front one, while it is not possible to use it in Cinema, Time-Lapse and Slo-mo modes.

Recording a video in ProRes format is very simple: simply open the Camera, move to Video mode and then tap on the “ProRes HDR” icon to activate it. If this icon is crossed out, it means that it is deactivated, otherwise it is not.

The ProRes format is capable of recording video in 4K format at 30fps, while iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are guaranteed to record in 4K at 60fps. On models with 128 gigabytes of storage, recording is only available in 1080p/30fps, with the exception of the 128 gigabyte iPhone 15 Pro you can record in 4K at 60fps if you connect to a compatible external storage device.
